I gained .2 again this morning. This is the third day in a row that I've had a small gain. I know damn well that I'm OP with everything so I'm slightly annoyed. I looked back through my food/exercise/weight log and I'm still down a full pound from a week ago, so at least I have that. The only thing I can blame it on is TOM being on the way - I have all the signs. No choice but to wait it out.
This morning I tried the organic eggs - I made an omlette with pico de gallo and it was really good. I could definitley tell a difference in the look of the eggs and the shell was much harder. I've been trying to come up with new ways to fix my food to keep it fresh. I made a southwest-ish relish with corn, black beans, onion, tomato and a little lime juice and vinegar. I've been putting that on my salads with a little jack cheese.
Last night was gorgeous so I walked two miles. Tonight is squats and exercise dvd. When I got dressed this morning I put on a light shirt/jacket and did notice that it covers more of my butt/falls longer than it used to and my pants are slightly longer. Yippee!
That's it for now. Fingers crossed for a FREAKIN' LOSS TOMORROW!!!
Time to get the Zero Scale. Seriously, I love mine, because it only focuses on the positive and that is a positive thing.
ReplyDeleteI love using fresh salsas to freshen things up. I make a great mango, tomato and red onion salsa that is great on salads and I also throw together one with radishes, sunflower seeds, sprouts and feta cheese.
What do you eat on a regular day now that you've given up the grains? Are you just doing eggs and then salads? Have you ever tried the shiritaki noodles made from tofu? Do you eat tofu?
Hi Mel - I considered buying the Zero Scale but I think it would be about the same for me, I'd still see the gain or loss...One weird thing is that in a way I think I want to see the numbers on the scale to hold myself accountable and I like to see if I'm entering a new "decade".
ReplyDeleteI bought a good mango/peach/tomato salsa that I like to put on fish and chicken once in a while. Thanks for ideas on the new salads - they sound great - esp. the one with the radishes, sunflower seeds and feta.
For breakfast I've been eating mainly eggs and once in a while a piece of ham and/or fruit. I need to come up with something else to eat from breakfasts - I'll have to look online to get ideas. Lunch is a big salad and maybe a small amount of fruit. Dinner is a protein (usually chicken or fish - once in a great while I'll have pork or beef) and a big side of vegetables. If I'm craving something sweet, I'll eat an orange or have a hot drink and that usually does the trick. I'm trying to rid out almost all processed foods but I know I won't be able to entirely (salsa, cheese, half and half and so on...)
Sorry to say that I do not like tofu.
Re the small gains, maybe it's the squats - you're doing more and more each day (whoo!!) and I don't know if you're experiencing any soreness, but perhaps your muscles are holding onto the water? You're doing great, don't let the scale get you down, focus on all the NSV's and healthy new habits!!! :)
ReplyDeleteM-Sat., I have 1 hard boiled egg, 1 oz. nuts (cashews), and 1 oz. of mild cheddar cheese...for breakfast. Breakfast of champions!
ReplyDeleteI won't eat tofu either. And soy comes from soybeans which are heavily chemicalized, so stay away from those.
Could the tiny gains maybe also be from the squats causing muscles to either:
1. be inflammed
2. muscle growing?
I'm not a big believer in large amount of weight gain being attributed to muscles growing, but minutes amount like your gains, in conjunction with a massive physical regime change...why not?
Try not to sweat it; if TOM is imminent, I'm sure you'll see a big drop immediately afterwards. :)
I guess it could be the squats... suprisingly, I'm really not that sore anymore, but I know something has to be happening in there muscle-wise. I'm hoping for a whoosh soon.
