For the past week I've been bombarded with hundreds of spam comments! I've changed some settings so we'll see if this works. If not I may have to move to a different blog site :/
Yeah... SPAM can be an issue. All I did was change my settings to where you have to be signed in to comment. If something still gets through, be sure and report it as SPAM so it can be kicked out of the system. Good luck and hopefully you get it fixed soon!
I don't know if this would help your issue or if you can do it in your platform, but one thing that helped for me was to shut of comments on older posts. It seemed that most of my spam was on the old stuff, rather than the current stuff. Good luck!
